Erockus Arcade is a frontend for MAME that aims to make this popular arcade machine emulator simpler to use. This program does not include MAME, which you will have to download separately, and of course it does not include any ROMs, which will also have to be downloaded from other websites.
The first time you launch Erockus Arcade you need to choose where you are storing the MAME executable, and this is also where the program will be installed. This process is very simple and only takes a few seconds. The software interface then becomes exactly the same as the frontend, with its joystick and colored buttons. In this interface, though, you will have to click directly on the buttons you want to press.
One of Erockus Arcade's most remarkable aspects is the great number of options that are at your disposal to customize your experience both with MAME and with the frontend itself. Within the Video Settings, for example, you can change more than 30 different parameters, including the possibility to add filters or to preserve the original aspect ratios. In the Control Settings, on the other hand, you can connect several keyboards or infrared guns. Of course, to play with these guns you will need a CRT monitor.
