Gen1Recomp is a PC launcher that lets you play the first-generation Pokémon games, including Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, natively on Windows. The project does not include the original game data, so you need to provide your own compatible ROM files.
Setup is straightforward. Import a Pokémon ROM in GB or GBC format into Gen1Recomp, and the launcher processes the game so it can be started directly on PC. You can configure options such as text speed, music volume, and battle interface settings before playing.
Gen1Recomp also includes built-in mod support, allowing players to manage and apply compatible modifications through the launcher. Mods can add features or change aspects of the original games, including visual changes, gameplay modifications, and additional customization options.
Overall, Gen1Recomp provides a native PC launcher for Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow with configurable settings and support for game modifications.
